All About Guinea Pigs
Welcome to the wonderful world of Guinea Pigs (also known as Cavies)! I will be using one of my Guinea Pigs (GP) as an example. Note that there are some differences between rabbits and guinea pigs.
First you will see the NAME of the GP. This is the green letters. The black letters before the name are the TITLES and PREFIX. Titles are gained by showing your GP. The breeders PREFIX cannot be changed. CV's is the PREFIX on this guinea pig. This is how you can tell who bred the animal. This can only be added by the breeder.
The Basic Information block contains the BREED, GENDER, AGE, BREEDER, OWNER and a link to their CAGE.
The Dynamic Information block contains the WEIGHT and the BREED AGAIN wait time. This is one aspect that is different than rabbits. This will be N/A for boars.
FUR, BODY, HEAD, EYES and EARS are part of the DNA Block. These are the GP PERMANENT STATS (Perms for short). A GP with an asterisks (*) next to ALL 5 stats is considered "PERFECT". These stats CANNOT be changed.
Under GENETICS, you have two options. There will either be nothing or it will show the GP's genetic code. The owner must gene test the animal for the code to show up. The biggest difference between rabbits and guinea pigs is that guinea pigs CAN be crossbred. The genetic code of a guinea pig determines its breed! Please go to the Guinea Pig Genetics Page for more on this!
COLOR is the color of the guinea pig. There are no unaccepted colors!
The SIRE and DAM are clickable links. If either has died it will show up as "invalid guinea pig". Below the Sire and Dam is a link to the PEDIGREE of the GP. All the names in the pedigree are links and under the pedigree it will show any OFFSPRING the GP has had that have been kept along with their colors. Offspring not kept will not show up.
Under the Care block you have icons. In order: FEED, HAY, WATER, GROOM, VITAMIN C, TRAIN, PLAY, SHOW, FLEA TREATMENT and WORMER.
Feed, Hay and Water are basics. You can click the icons to feed and water your GP
Grooming is essential to keep your GP happy. You can use different items depending on the % needed.
(Example: Your GP is at 86%, you will need the Bristle Brush to get back to 100% groomed. (see Cheat Sheet)
Guinea pigs need Vitamin C drops. If you do not give your GP Vitamin C, it will become sick after awhile.
Training can be done on the GP page (further down) or you may use the Trainer in Buckby.
Playing with your GP gains happiness. A happy GP wins shows. Use a Toy from the General Store!
Show your GP to gain points and add stat boosts (further down).
Flea treatment (also called Spot-On Treatment) and Wormer can be bought in the General Store in Wellbeing.
If the icons are grey, it means the GP has been cared for. If they are red or highlighted, the GP has not had that part of care done. Note: FLEA TREATMENT and WORMER are not a requirement of care at this time (this will be changing).
GROOMING and HAPPINESS are measured by if you have cared for your GP. GROOMING is increased by brushing or bathing your GP. HAPPINESS is increased by playing with them.
VACCINATIONS and MICROCHIPPING are done at the VETS OFFICE in your town. You must have a CARRIER attached to your guinea pig beforehand!
Under BREED GUINEA PIG you will see "Breed With" and a dropdown menu and a button for breeding. You can do this from both the sow and boar pages. NOTE: You CAN crossbreed guinea pigs!. GP must be over 6 months old and females must be under 6 years 7 months. Boars can breed until they die. Guinea Pigs have a TWO DAY gestation period.

In the Assigned block, you have the items currently ATTACHED to your guinea pig. You attach items to your guinea pig in your INVENTORY. You cannot attach a harness and leash to guinea pigs.
ASSIGN TREAT TYPE is where you assign a specific treat to your GP. Each treat has its own boost. You can find this in the Cheat Sheet. You must assign a treat to your guinea pig to train it by hand.
If you wish to move your GP, you may do so in the MOVE CAGES block. The dropdown menu will only show hutches currently available for your GP. Females must be housed with females, and males with males.
The STATISTICS block is the most important block on the page.
REGISTRATIONS are the associations and groups that the GP is registered with. If the GP is RFA registered it will gain titles.
AGILITY (AGI), CONFORMATION (CON), INTELLIGENCE (INT), SPEED (SPD) and TEMPERAMENT (TMP) are considered the guinea pig's "Non Permanent Stats" or "Non-Perms/NP" for short. These are the GPs "Total Stats" when added together. The higher the numbers the better chance your guinea pig will win shows.
Each show placement gives a guinea pig a certain amount of POINTS. A GP will level up when it reaches 1000, 2000, 3000 etc points. Each level up gives the guinea pig a NP boost! Guinea pigs can level up in both conformation and mazes.
WINS is the number of shows your guinea pig has won. The number is a clickable link that shows the current show results for this particular GP. This applies to both conformation shows and maze trials!
