Breeding
BREEDING is a key element to improving your herd in LL.
A BUCK is a male rabbit, a DOE is a female rabbit, a KIT is a rabbit under 4mon old.
A BOAR is a male guinea pig, a SOW is a female guinea pig, a PUP is a guinea pig under 4mon old.
Both species must be over 6 month old to be bred.
A DOE can breed until she turns 6yrs 8months.
A SOW can breed until she turns 6yrs 7 months.
Rabbits CAN NOT be crossbred.
Guinea pigs CAN be crossbred. Breed is determined by their genetic code.
Rabbits are pregnant for ONE DAY.
Guinea pigs are pregnant for TWO DAYS.
They have the same "cool down period" which is the time they need to rest between litters. This is 7 days from the time they become pregnant to the time they can be bred again.
DWARF breeds have a chance of PEANUTS. These are deformities caused by the double dwarf gene. You will get a message telling you how many peanuts died. The number of peanuts in a litter is random. You are guaranteed at least ONE kit in a litter.
Breeds affected: Netherland Dwarf, Dwarf Hotot, Mini Rex, Holland Lop, and Brittania Petite.
ENGLISH SPOTS are the only breed with mismarks at this time. Mismarks are any pattern other than Broken. Mismarked English Spots are not RFA accepted.
ESTIMATING NP can be done by adding both parents current NP (at time of breeding) and then divide that by three.
USING STUDS is a great way to improve your animals. You can use the STUD CLASSIFIEDS or use SEARCH by checking the "for stud" box.
Studs can be PUBLIC or PRIVATE. Public studs do not need approval from the owner. Private studs need approval by the owner. Make sure the owner is active and/or has stud requirements when submitting a request for a private stud.
INBREEDING/LINE-BREEDING have no ill effects in the game.
Inbreeding is breeding closely related animals together (brother to sister, father to daughter etc).
Line-breeding is breeding further related animals together (cousins, great grandparents etc)
